ABOUT ME *

Hi, I am Sanaa K, I am a physical theatre artist raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I’m currently a Senior BFA Physical Theatre Major at Coastal Carolina University with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. I have been training in the arts my whole life; this includes a variety of topics from Shakespeare to Commedia dell’Arte.

As a physical actor, I specialize in theatrical movement with a passion for devised and collaborative work. I use physical theatre as a way of connecting to the world and people around me. People of all walks of life can enjoy physical theatre because it transcends the boundaries of verbal language.

I am known to be a strong mover with lots of energy on and off stage, and I tend to always lead with an open mind in creative spaces. I attack all work with creativity and am learning to use my art as personal activism. I believe that theatre is a collaborative art form and I thoroughly enjoy getting to work in a strong ensemble of creative individuals. I am always looking for new and funky projects to be a part of. My goal in my artistry, I am committed to ensuring that artistic spaces are diverse and inclusive and I plan to make that shown in the work I present to the world.
